Kraft. - Erste Ausgabe der japanischen Übersetzung, Bearbeitung und Erläuterung des "Tianjing Huowen" durch Irie Osamu (1699-1773). "Irie reprinted the eight original maps and printed revisions of all except the star map of the region of constant invisibility. If the original illustration or explanation was incorrect, he showed a corrected one (or one he thought was correct), basing his revisions on Shibukawa's 'Tenmon seishô zu'" (Miyajima). Neben den Himmelskarten ist auch die vereinfachte Matteo Ricci-Weltkarte sowie eine ungewöhnliche Weltkarte in 2 Hemisphären (auf 4 Doppelbll.) nach F. Verbiest enthalten. Besonders bemerkenswert sind 3 Holzschnitte mit Volvellen, die trotz des empfindlichen Papiers hier vollständig erhalten und intakt sind. - Sehr schönes Exemplar.
