(Vortitel & Titel), 4, 4 S. (Prospekt), 196 nn. Bll. (Tafelerklärungen). Hldr. d. späten 19. Jh., etwas beschabt, 1 Rücken oben mit Fehlstelle.

Nissen, BBI 1599; Stafleu-C. 8749; MacPhail 40; Stock 2369. - Zweite Ausgabe, die erste in Oktav und mit neuen Tafeln, in 40 Lieferungen erschienen. "Les planches seront coloriées sous les yeux de M. Redouté. Les dessins ont été gravés de nouveau et réduits du format in-folio au format in 8ø" (Prospekt). Die Textblätter, je 1-2 zu jeder Tafel, umfassen hier 10 Bll. mehr als die Kollation bei Stock ergibt. Bei folgenden Lieferungen weicht unsere Zählung von Stock leicht ab: Liefg. 3 (a-c, d3); 8 (a-b, c-d2); 17 (a2, b, c2, d); 25 (a-b, c2, d); 26 (a-b2, c, d2); 33 (a-c2, d); 35 (a-d); 36 (a-d). Der Prospekt ist doppelt eingebunden (einmal mit, einmal ohne "Imprimerie de Panckoucke" am Ende), einem Exemplar des Prospekts ist die Tafel "Rosa Gallica officinalis" beigegeben, die daher doppelt vorhanden ist. - Kopfgoldschnitt, sonst unbeschnitten. Leicht gebräunt; Text stellenw. stockfleckig, Tafeln kaum fleckig.
Second edition, the first octavo edition. With 161 plates in 2 vols. (including a plate bpund in twice). - Outer and lower margins uncut. Mild browning; foxing to text, minor foxing to plates here and there. Later half-calf, somewhat rubbed, lesion to head of spine of 1 volume.
