Die Kupfer nach Androuet du Cerceau von verschiedenen Künstlern gestochen. "Consists of 60 numbered engraved plates illustrating an extraordinary variety of inventions, ranging from a musical instrument to fire-fighting apparatus ... One of the first French works on this subject" (Mortimer). Enthält ferner Darstellungen von Baggern, Bohrmaschinen, Drehbänken, Hebezeugen und Fördermaschinen, Mühlen, Pumpen, Schiffen, verschiedenen Transportfahrzeugen, Reisewagen u.v.a. - Kupfer tlw. etwas flau; stellenw. etwas fleckig; gegen Ende mit Wasserfleck im Fußsteg.

French translation of the 'Theatrum instrumentorum et machinarum'. With fine woodcut title border and 60 full-page engraved plates. - Plates partly in weak impression; some staining in places; marginal waterstain at end. Recent vellum.
