40 Years of Reiss Auctions   (January 31, 2011)

In spring of 2011, the auction house Reiss & Sohn will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the firm. It was in 1971 that Godebert M. Reiss began in Mainz with regular auctions of rare and valuable books as well as maps and other illustrated works. Since then, the auctioneers have held a total of 140 auctions in spring and fall of each year. In addition to the regular auction catalogues, the 40th anniversary will be celebrated with two special catalogues of exquisite objects, illustrated with full colour pictures. Additional special catalogues are planned in the course of the year.
