"Ruscelli's 'Imprese' is useful not only for the devices themselves but for the coat of arms included in the elaborate borders on most of the devices and for miscellaneous informations about the owners" (Mortimer). Der hier beigebundene Teil 4 erschien erst zur Ausgabe 1584. - Teilw. etwas stockfleckig bzw. fingerfleckig u. angestaubt, einige Feuchtigkeitsränder. Zwischentitel u. einige blattgr. Kupfer unten knapp beschnitten, zu Teil 2 angeschnitten.
Second edition, richly illustrated emblem book, the engravings attributed to Giacomo Franco or Girolamo Porro. Bound with part 4 of the 1584 edition. - Some foxing, thumbing and duststaining, dampmarking in places. Lower margin of title, half-titles and some full-page engravings somewhat trimmed. Contemporary limp vellum, some browning, spotting and creasing.
