"The Académie de Science's first trial of Le Roy's chronometer took place in 1767 aboard the Aurore, which sailed from Le Havre to Amsterdam and back again over a period of three months. Le Roy provided two timepieces for the voyage, both of which were found to have kept remarkably accurate time" (Norman).
