Phillips-Le Gear 5950. - Der 2. Tl. des "Atlante Veneto" Coronellis, das sogen. Isolario enthaltend. Die meist doppelblattgr. Karten mit zum Teil prachtvoller barocker Umrahmung zeigen China, Cypern (Stylianou S. 105, Nr. 138, Abb. S. 336), England, Irland, Island (Dreyer-E. 64; Hinrichsen 81), Italien (2), Japan (Walter 43 u. OAG 53; Campbell 33; Cortazzi S. 48), Korfu, Korsika, Kreta (auf 2 doppelblattgr. Bll., Zacharakis 677), Madeira, Malta (Maps of Malta 60 mit Abb.; Ganado 9 mit Abb.), Medoc, Korsika, "Napoli di Romania", Normandie, Sardinien, Südostasien, Venedig (gefaltete Ansicht) etc. Ferner 12 blattgr. u. 4 etwa halbseitige Segmente aus Coronellis gr. Globus (Shirley 537). Die Textkupfer mit Detailansichten, Plänen und weiteren Karten. - Gegenüber der Tafelaufstellung bei Phillips fehlen im ersten Tl. die Nrn. 5, 7-9 und 27, im zweiten Tl. die Nrn. 3, 18-19, 21, und 37. Nicht erwähnt ist die bei uns vorhandene Karte "Stato di Ragusa" (in Tl. 1 nach S. 157) sowie die Japankarte (in Tl. 2 nach S. 143, s.o.). Kaum fleckig, einige Textbll. innen mit kleinen Restaurierungen, einige Tafeln mit sehr sorgfältig restaurierten Randeinrissen, insgesamt sauberes und gutes Exemplar.

For details of maps see above, of special importance are the 16 (12 full-page) engr. globe gore sheets, which form the famous 110 centimetre diameter globe (Shirley 537). - Our copy omitts in pt. 1, nos. 5, 7-9 and 27 and in pt. 2 the nos. 3, 18-19 and 21 of Phillips' map listing. Here present are "Stato di Ragusa" (pt. 1) and "Japan" (pt. 2, see above for details) both not mentioned by Ph. Overall very little staining, small repairs to few text leaves, careful restorations to a small number of plates, a clean copy in recent calf.
