(2014) Taf. 41; Meurer, Strabo 71; Woodward 70; Tooley, Italian Atlases 451. - Äußerst seltene Karte in östl. Orientierung, bei der es sich um die Vorlage für die Forlani-Karte handeln könnte. - Papier mit Wasserzeichen: Kardinalshut mit Beizeichen. - Tlw. mit etwas Plattenton; Ränder stellenweise etwas fleckig, schwacher Wasserfleck und kl. rep. Randeinriss oben rechts; hs. Num. "4" in Tinte unten links.

Scarce anonymous map of Piemonte (without title) oriented to the east. This could be the model for the 1567 Forlani map (larger size and with title cartouche; see above). "The origins of this map image of Piedmont are partly unclear" (Meurer p. 85). - Paper with watermark: cardinal's hat with accessories. - Uncol. Somewhat toned in places; some occasional marginal spotting, slight waterstain and small repaired tear at upper right; old numb. in ink "4" to lower left corner.
