First edition. The first major climbing expedition to the area. Conway's party made the first ascent of the south (highest) peak of Illimani (6402 m) at the southern end of the range, and just failed to reach the summit of Ancohuma (6430 m) at the northern end. They also prepared the first topographic survey of the range. - Slight browning, inner joints cracked. Bound in original pictorial cloth, slightly rubbed.
