First edition. - Light browning, stronger to one map, last pages with waterstains. Small tear to col. folded map. Manuscript ownership inscription "Wilhelm Siegling. Bln. 1907". Prof. Dr. Wilhelm Siegling (1880-1946) was an academic official of the Berlin Academy of Sciences and co-founder of the Tocharian Linguistics and at the same time the best connoisseur of the different varieties of the Central Asian Brāhmī script. Original cloth with gold-embossed cover vignette and gold lettered spine; head and tail of spine slightly bumped.
