(teilw. unten eingefaltet) Kupfertaf. von V. Coronelli. 12 Bll., 358 S.; gest. Titel, 306 (recte 296) S., 6 Bll. Kart. d. Zt., Rücken mit Papier u. hs. Titel überklebt; etwas fleckig, Rücken berieben, gelockert, Innengelenke mit Wurmspuren.
BM, 17th cent. books 497; Atabey 724 (fehlen die Tafeln); Cicogna 982; Libr. Vinciana 597 (zählt 1 Taf. weniger); Zacharakis 2060-70. - Erste Ausgabe. Seltenes Werk über die gegen das osmanische Reich in der Peloponnes geführten Feldzüge des Dogen Francesco Morosini, einem der berühmtesten Flottenadmirale des 17. Jhdts. Die Tafeln (14 gefaltete, 1 blattgr., Rest doppelblattgr.) mit Gesamtkarte, ca. 25 Detailkarten und Plänen der peloponnesischen Inselwelt, ferner ca. 25 Ansichten von Festungen (darunter auch Festungsansicht u. Plan von Lepanto), meist griechischen Städten, zahlr. Plänen u.s.w., sowie 2 Tafeln, alle umgeben von Bordüren aus Früchten und Blattwerk. - Vereinzelt gering fleckig, kleine Wurmspuren im weißen Rand u. Bund, wenige mit Bildberührung. Einige Tafeln mit Anmerkungen im unteren weißen Rand.
First edition. - A fine work on the Turkish-Venetian wars in the Peloponessus and a major source to the life of the celebrated Doge Francesco Morosini. With 55 mostly doublepage plates (some folded), depicting mainly greek towns, fortresses, maps, plans etc. - Slight spotting in places, small wormtraces to inner and blank margins, very few affecting plates, some marginal annotations to plates. Contemporary boards, some spotting, spines rubbed, worming to inner hinges.
