Jh. mit 2 farb. Rückenschildern, leicht fleckig u. angestaubt, oberes Rsch. mit kl. Eckabriss.

It includes a very thorough and systematic description of the Aegean Islands, Crete, Cyprus, and brief descriptions of Roumeli and the Peloponnesus. It contains an interesting index of ancient temples and/or supposed temples" (Blackmer). Die vier Tafelkarten zeigen die Ägäis, Peloponnes, Kreta und Cypern, die Textkarten griechische Inseln und Inselgruppen. - Streckenweise leicht gebräunt, gelegentlich etwas fleckig, S. 487-492 leicht wasserrandig, Peloponnes-Kte. u. S. 169 mit Tintenfleck im w. Rand. Kaum Randläsuren, S. 595/6 mit Eckabriss (mit geringem Buchstabenverlust), Peloponnes-Kte. mit kl. Faltstelleneinriss. S. 256 unten mit kl. Druckfehlstelle. Exlibris "Biondella di Valpantena Verona".

First edition. With engraved title, engr. portrait, 4 (1 folding) engr. maps bound as plates and 59 full-page maps of the Greek islands in the text. The four plate maps depicting the Aegean, Peloponnesus, Crete and Cyprus (Stylianou 134, Navari 98). - Slight browning in places, occasional staining, slight dampstaining to a few pages, marginal ink stain to map of Peloponnesus and p. 169. A few minor marginal tears only (including small marginal tear to folding of Peloponnesus-map), corner tear (with insignificant loss of letters) to p. 595/596; small printing blemish at bottom of p. 256. Bound in late 19th century half-vellum, somewhat dusty and stained, small corner tear to upper spine label. Bookplate (see above).
