"The narrative of the enterprising but ill-fated Pérouse, is full of interest in all portions, but his relations of the peculiarities he observed in the natives of the northwest coast of North America, are especially valuable" (Sabin). Atlas vereinzelt etwas stockfleckig, kleiner durchgehender Wasserrand in der rechten unteren weißen Ecke, Pazifikkarte mit kleiner hinterlegter Wurmspur im oberen Bildrand.

Minor browning and spotting to text in places. Some spotting in places to atlas, waterstaining to lower outer blank corner throughout. Small restored wormtrace to upper engraved margin of the Pacific map. Text bound in contemporary calf, spines gilt, slightly rubbed, some repairs to joints and head of spines, tears to joints of volume 4. Altas bound in 20th cent. half-calf, some rubbing in places.
