Auguste Viquesnel (1803-1867, Geograph, Meteorologe, Ethnograph und Geologe) ist vor allem für seinen vorliegenden Reisebericht des europäischen Teils des Osmanischen Reiches bekannt (Thrakien, Makedonien, Thessalien, Epirus, Albanien), wohin er 1847/48 reiste. Sein Bericht enthält auch geologische Informationen. - Textbde.: Gleichmäßig etwas gebräunt, Vortitel Bd. 1 mit geklebtem Randeinriss. Breitrandiges Exemplar.
