Umfangreiches Manuskript, beginnend mit den mathematischen Grundlagen der Fortifikation bis hin zu den unterschiedlichen Arten von Befestigungsanlagen in Frankreich, Deutschland und Italien, u.a. nach Blondel und Vauban. Reich illustriert mit entsprechenden Grundrissen, Profilen etc., ganz vereinzelt mit Ergänzungen in roter Tinte oder farbig. - Vereinzelt etwas gebräunt, Tinte durchgehend etwas durchschlagend u. ca. 25 Bll. mit Brüchen an der Tinteneinfassung durch Tintenfraß (hier u. da rep.), 1 Bl. hierdurch auch mit kl. Ausbruch im Bild.

Extensive manuscript on fortification, beginning with the mathematical basics of fortification and ending with the different types of fortifications according to Blondel, Vauban and others in France, Germany and Italy. Richly illustrated with plans, profiles etc., very occasionally with additions in red ink or in colour. - Some occasional browning, shine-through of ink throughout, approx. 25 pp. with cracks to border due to ink corrosion (here and there repaired.), 1 p. also with small break in the image due to this. Bound in contemporary calf, spine and edges gilt; rubbed and worn, splits to joints, 1 corner chipped off.
