Robert Estienne issued this epitome to complement his folio edition of Dio Cassius of 1548. The book ist beautifully printed in the first front of the "grecs du roi", from an unpublished manuscript in the Royal Library. This volume and the Justin Martyr of the same year are the last Greek texts to carry Robert Estienne's Paris imprint...". Zwei weitere Varianten erschienen im selben Jahr bei Estienne mit je 280 S. Die berühmte "Grecs du Roy" wurde von Claude Garamond nach Vorlagen des Kreters Angelo Vergecio für Estienne geschnitten (vgl. R. Blanchot, Les vissitudes des "Grecs du Roy", in: Gutenberg JB 1951, S. 9-16). Die für das Titelblatt benutzte "Basilisk"-Marke weist Estienne als königlichen Drucker für griechische Texte aus.
