From the only 15th Century Press at Brussels

Jahrhunderts, die von den Brüdern des einfachen Lebens 1475 im Nazareth-Kloster begründet worden war. Es ist anzunehmen, daß Johann Veldener aus Löwen die Offizin mit seinen Typen versorgte. Die Hauptproduktion (ca 35 Drucke) dieser Presse beschränkte sich auf liturgische Werke und die Schriften der Kirchenväter. - Breitrandiges Exemplar, stellenweise etwas gebräunt und stockfleckig, erste Bll. mit geringer Wurmspur im äußersten weißen Rand, erstes Bl. mit gelöschtem Besitzvermerk im oberen Rand, Bl. 46 mit Fehlstelle im weißen Rand durch Papierfehler. Exlibris William Harris Arnold. - Beiliegt: Handschriftliche Anmerkungen (3 Bll.) eines englischen Sammlers des 19. Jh. zum Werk.

Very rare first edition, printed at the first and only 15th-century press at Brussels. The Brothers of the Common Life established a press at their Nazareth Cloister and printed 35 known editions from 1475 to 1485, mainly liturgical texts and works of theology. Their types resembled Cologne types, and the earliest fount was apparently the work of the typesetter and first printer at Louvain Johann Veldener. - A copy with wide margins, rubricated, few initials supplied in red. Somewhat browned and foxed in places, small marginal worm trace to first few leaves, deleted ownership inscription to upper margin of the first leaf, leaf 46 with a loss in the white margin due to a paper fault.
