The Artist and the Book 314; Monod 10946; Walterskirchen IV B, 27-45. - Nr. 100 von 90 (GA. 107) Exemplaren auf Holland van Gelder, Druckvermerk vom Dichter und Künstler signiert. "Vlaminck's first illustrated book and one of the first books to bear the imprint of the Galerie Simon, under which Kahnweiler carried on after the war, using the name of his friend Andre Simon, a French national. Like his fellow Fauves, Dufy and Derain, Vlaminck also employed the woodcut for his first illustrations (though ten years later than those two colleagues). The broadly cut pictorial designs are similar to his painted landscapes" (The Artist and the Book). - Geringe Bräunung durch die Holzschnitte auf dem gegenüberliegenden Blatt.
Number 100 of 90 copies on Hollande van Gelder signed by Vlaminck and Vanderpyl of a total edition of 107. - Slight browning caused by the woodcuts on the opposite sheet. Original wrappers. In a recent half morocco box.
