Der Erfolg des Werks war maßgeblich für die Verbreitung des Palladianismus im 18. Jh. in Groß-Britannien u. Amerika verantwortlich. Ein 3. Bd. erschien 1725. 1767 und 1771 wurde das Werk mit den Bänden 4-5 von John Woolfe und James Gandon fortgeführt. Für Bd. 2 wurde der gest. Titel von Bd. 1 verwendet, Druckjahr u. Contemporary half-calf with gilt stamped title, spine gilt; rubbed and bumped, heads of spine partly chipped, exposure to raised bands.
