Vogelbeeren. Aldrovandi, Verfasser mehrerer naturgeschichtlicher Enzyklopädien, legte das größte aus dem 16. Jh. bekannte Herbarium an, das wohl auch den Abbildungen des vorliegenden Werkes als Vorlage gedient hat. Exemplar mit allen Vorstücken: Vortitel, Kupfertitel, Widmung, 2 Bll. Panegyrik, Imprimatur (vgl. Hunt zu den Varianten). - Stellenweise gering wasserandig u. meist nur im Kopfsteg stockfleckig. Wenige Bll. meist am Schluss etwas stärker wasserrandig u. schwach gebräunt. Vortitel mit aufmontiertem altem Katalogauschnitt. Alter hs. Eintrag in Tinte auf S. 426. Gest. Titel bis zur Einfassungslinie beschnitten u. recto u. verso mit Stempel.

A few leaves mostly at the end somewhat more dampstained and slightly browned. Mounted old catalogue clipping to half-title. Old handwritten entry in ink on p. 426. Title cropped to border and with stamp on recto and verso. Recent full-leather using old leather covers with gilt armorial device; hinges reinforced with tape.
