Very rare. "The new world map is a simplified woodcut derivative of Waldseemüller's, now placed in an elongated rectangular frame. Parts of both North and South America are shown (unnamed except for the words 'paria seu prisilia'...). The countries in the other continents are either named on the map or listed by alphabetical letters according to a textual key printed below" (Sh.). According to Shirley published only in the 1513 edition. - With watermark: staff of Basel over monogram "AT". - Uncol. Cleaned, lower half still with some browning and spotting, 2 large repaired tears up to center of image, one tear-out up to legend and text replaced in ms (h-q and "tabula expressa, literulis"; c. 4,5:5 cm); furthermore split to old vertical fold at left; completely strengthened with fine paper.
