The plates show prominent buildings and other noteworthy places, the text-illustrations include e.g. multiple pages with the coat-of-arms of Londons noble families or its guilds. - Minimal browning, slight marginal spotting, occasional marginalia, stamps "City of London Libraries" and "Guildhall Library" to title and few plates verso, backed tear to map "The City of London as in Elizabeth's Time", titlepage (vol. 2) and the following leaf with some minor loss of image, otherwise some small scattered marginal tears.
