Fall Auctions, October 27–29, 2026: Catalogues Now Online

From 27 to 29 October, Reiss & Sohn invites you to its autumn auctions, featuring two varied catalogues and a total of over 1,750 lots. The selection brings together outstanding rarities, significant works and exceptional collections from the worlds of books, scholarship and cartography.

The first catalogue ranges from the art of fencing in Rainer Köbelin’s library, through precious incunabula and magnificently illustrated manuscripts, to Shakespeare’s ‘Second Folio’ and significant writings by Luther. Among the scholarly highlights are Newton’s Principia mathematica and Huygens’ Systema Saturnium. The selection is complemented by chosen works on medicine, botany and zoology, as well as literature, philosophy and law, including 20 lots relating to neurology from the Creutzfeldt collection.

The second catalogue is entirely devoted to geography, cartography and travel literature. A particular highlight is the previously unpublished Brazil collection by Carl Wilhelm and Leon Theremin, comprising around 540 original drawings and handwritten documents. This is complemented by rare atlases, globes and world maps, including the first edition of Blaeu’s magnificently coloured ‘Atlas maior’, as well as significant works on travel and geography, historical views and decorative prints.
