First edition, with engr. col. front. and 60 engr. plates in magnificent contemporary colouring, with a number of figures of plants on each plate. "'Eden' contains descriptions and cultural details concerning the various products of the garden under the time of year in which they flower or fruit, the phrase name used by Linnaeus for each plant is given, and each is refered to its place in that author's sexual system, which is explained" (Henrey II, p. 98). - Fine copy; slight staining to title, plate 30 trimmed into neatline, no loss. Contemporary half-calf, rubbed and worn, upper joint cracked.
