"L'Amérique". Kol. Kupf.-Kte. von A. H. Jaillot, korrigiert und überarbeitet von (L. C.) Desnos, 1782. Mit 2 ausgem. fig. und ornament. Kart. Von 6 Platten gedruckt und zusammengesetzt; 108:132 cm, darüber Kopftitel.
Rare wall map, originally based on a map by Blaeu published first in 1608. "Blaeu's set of wall maps of the continents appeared to be very popular, as copies were also published in France at Alexis Hubert Jaillot's in Paris (around 1700)..." (Schilder, p. 53). - 6 sheets, joined; col. Light spotting in places. A few small repaired holes or small tears at 3 vertical folds, the 2 slight horizontal ones backed with fine tissue, small tear at right margin just affecting image, slight creasing in places; rolled up.
Seltene Wandkarte. Die Karte Jaillots, um 1700 erschienen, basiert auf der bereits 1608 (!) erstmals hrsg. vierblättr. Wandkarte des W. Blaeu; vgl. hierzu Schilder, MCN IV, S. 53 u. Pastoureau S. 233. - Stellenweise leicht fleckig. In den 3 vertikalen Knickfalten wenige, meist hinterlegte kl. Löcher od. kl. Risse, 2 schwache horizontale Faltstellen mit dünnem Japanpapier verstärkt; kl. Randeinriß rechts, ferner leicht Knickspuren; gerollt.
