Mit gest. Titelvignette (im Text wiederh.), 1 ganzs. Porträt des Verfassers und 64 Textkupfern. 10 Bll., 440 S., 10 Bll. Ldr. d. Zt. mit 2 farb. Rsch., beschabt und bestoßen, Bezugsfehlstellen, Gelenke gebrochen.
Sole edition. With engraved title vignette (repeated on p. 331), full-page engraved portrait, and 64 text engravings. "Large, elaborate, detailed series of explanations & discussions concerning the subjects portrayed upon 60 engraved gems set in rings and shown in the engravings. Much of the text consists of citations taken from other authorities and all of it appears speculative in nature" (Sinkankas). - Some browning, small hole to upper and outer margin almost throughout, light damstaining to upper margin of final leaves. Contemporary calf, rather rubbed and worn, joints split.
