Firts state (of 2) without the illustrations of the zodiac at each side. "Based on the geographical knowledge presented in C.'s large gores of 1688. They combine the most up-to-date cartographical information with elegant engraving and restrained accompanying decoration" (Sh.). With California as an island and the drawing of New Zealand with incorrect legend "Scoperta dagli Hollandesi 1684" et al. - Col. Cleaned and sized, still light occasional spotting.
