London, Miller, 1804 (um 1820). Fol. (37:26,5 cm). Mit 50 kol. Aquatintatafeln. 3 Bll., IV S. u. 50 Bll. Tafelerklärungen (in Engl. u. Französ.). Maroquinbd. d. Zt. mit blind- u. goldgepr. Deckelbordüren, Rvg. u. Goldschnitt, berieben u. mit einigen Kratzspuren, Rückdeckel unten mit Fleck.
Lipperheide Ea 25; Colas 2112; Abbey, Travel 71; Tooley 333. - Späterer Abdruck, einige Tafeln mit Wasserzeichen "J. Whatman 1817" bzw. "1819". Prächtiges Tafelwerk mit schönen, sauber kolorierten Trachtendarstellungen in Aquatinta. Sie zeigen u.a. Trachten aus Böhmen, Mähren, Tirol, Siebenbürgen und Dalmatien. Es handelt sich um Nachstiche nach den ersten 50 Taf. aus V. G. Kiningers Trachtenwerk (1803). Frühe Abdrucke des Werkes enthielten noch eine engl./französ. Einleitung (so bei Colas u. Lipperheide), die später weggelassen wurde (wie hier vorliegend u. bei Abbey u. Tooley). - Stellenw. leicht fingerfleckig, vereinzelt gering braunfleckig, Tafeln meist mit schwachem Textabklatsch; Taf. 1 mit kleinem Verklebungsschaden, die gegenüberliegende Textseite mit Verlust weniger Buchstaben.
