First leaf of dedication with tear and trace of glue. One plate reinforced at bottom, another with backed marginal tear touching the framing line. 2 leaves with short marginal tear, 1 leaf with small hole in margin, loss of one letter of printed marginalia. Contemporary calf with label to spine and gilt spine, blindstamped cover fillets and gilt initials "F. G. Z. S. H. u. W." and year "1740" to front cover; somewhat rubbed and bumped, slightly stained, spine backed at top.
