Rare and famous map of Lombardy by Vincenzo Luchini in its second state (of 4) with his imprint and date in lower left cartouche. The topographical roots can be traced back to the first mapping of this region by Luca A. degli Ruberti, but Luchini extended the territory showing now also both Lago Maggiore and Como up to Venice, the latter illustrated by the Piazza di San Marco. "Si tratta di una carta che ebbe molte ristampe, perché presentava in modo chiaro e leggibile una grande estensione territoriale del Nord Italia" (Bifolco/R.). - Uncol. Lightly toned. Minor spotting in places, somewhat heavier to margins; vertical crease mark at right of centerfold resp. to left half; 2 small paperflaws and 3 tiny wormstitches to upper left of image, and slight waterstaining not affecting image.

Im Bild vereinzelt leicht fleckig, Ränder etwas stärker; rechts am Bug u. links mittig jeweils 1 vertikale Quetschfalte. Linke Oberecke mit 2 dünnen Papierstellen u. 3 winzigen Wurmstichen sowie außen leicht wasserrandig.
