Mit großer Ansicht in Sepia-Aquatinta im Text u. 280 (16 tlw. mehrfach gefalt.) kol. Kupfertafeln. 2 Bll., XXXII, 104 S.; 1 Bl., XXXII S., S. 105-221; 2 Bll. (inkl. Index), S. 223-310. Marmor. Kalblederbände. d. Zt. mit reicher Rückenvergoldung u. 2 farb. Rückenschildern, berieben, stellenw. etwas beschabt, Gelenke gering angeplatzt, Rücken am Kopf u. Fuß bestoßen.
Three volumes, first edition. Famous work on Hungarian flora, illustrated with one view and 280 finely hand-coloured engraved plates, 16 of which are folding. The work is "a typical product of the Golden Age of Viennese botany which centred on Jacquin" (de Belder 378). The publication was suspended due to the Napoleonic wars, and therefor "never was completed" (Plesch 801). - Plates of vol. 1 loose, body of text firm in binding. Plates here and there in upper margins cut to the numbering, brownstain to 1 leaf of text only, else fresh and broad margined copy.

Der Text stammt vorwiegend von Kitaibel, während Graf Waldstein das Erscheinen finanziell ermöglichte. Richtet sich in Stil und Aufbau nach den großen Wiener Publikationen Jacquins (vgl. de Belder 378). "Very minute and careful work." (D.). - Die Tafeln von Bd. 1 lose, dort Textblock im Einband stabil. Tafeln ganz vereinzelt oben etwas knapp beschnitten mit Berührung der Tafelnummer, 1 Textbl. mit Braunfleck, sonst sehr frisches u. breitrandiges Exemplar.
