Henze II, 274; Schwab 193. - Zweite Ausgabe, erste in Europa; war erstmals 1788 in Kalkutta (Kolkata) erschienen. Der britische Offizier "ging 1786 von Buschir nach Schiras, wo er acht Monate blieb. Er entwarf von dieser Stadt, sagt Gabriel (Persien, p. 124), 'ein so treffliches Bild, wie es niemand vor ihm und nur wenige nach ihm getan haben'" (Henze). - Stellenweise etwas stockfleckig.
